Head of Climate Action Implementation, North America, C40 Cities
Robert works with C40’s 17 cities in the United States and Canada to help them accelerate implementation of climate actions through technical assistance, peer learning, and collective advocacy in support of policy and market transformation. The just transition toward a clean energy future being a critical area of focus.
He is a professional engineer based in Kelowna, Canada whose career has advanced over 20 years in the areas of sustainability, high performance buildings, and energy policy with cities and utilities. Through this experience, learning majority of barriers to the energy transition are increasingly less technical and economic, and more about systems thinking, values and communication, and political leadership.
Robert has a BASc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Ottawa and a masters degree in Sustainable Infrastructure from the University of Toronto.
In 2012 Robert was awarded Engineers and Geoscientists of BC Young Professional Award and in 2023 the Champion for the Environment by the City of Kelowna.
In his spare time he enjoys sourdough, skiing and mountain biking and supporting community climate action within his city.
